Vestry Wraps Up Meeting in Record Time The vestry gathered on Sunday, Dec. 16th at 12:30 PM and wrapped up business in a record hour and twenty minutes as part of their quest to shorten meetings. Main business items included review of progress of the stewardship drive, mechanisms setting budget priorities, and the slate of nominations for coming vacancies on the vestry. Pledges tally $108,877 with more than 60% of those received increasing their contributions in step with rising costs. About two-thirds of the expected pledges have been turned in. The vestry voted to form an ad hoc committee to look for new ways to broaden congregational participation in setting program pri-orities and developing the budget to fund them. Rick Robbins was appointed to serve out the remaining two-years of Mike Davis‘ term. The vestry also received a slate of candidates from the nominating committee to stand for election to fill the seats of outgoing members. The slate includes Mary Berner, Pam Oster, and Andrew Westberg. No candidatesfor senior or junior warden have been recruited. In other business the vestry voted to help sponsor the showing of the award winning documentary, ―For The Bible Tells Me So, which explores religious anti-gay bias through the experiences of five normal American families with gay members.
