Mission: To support Christ’s mission in the local, state, and national communities. Matthew 25:35…”for I was hungry and you gave me food, was thisty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me. I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me.” :40…”truly I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.” St. John‘s Outreach Committee met on De-cember 2nd. The meeting was opened with a reading and prayer. For our first order of business, we voted in our new committee member, Joan Hertel, as the Outreach Secretary. Welcome Joan! Next, the committee voted to donate $300 worth of Christmas baskets to the Salvation Army. Thank you to all those who donated toward the Mitten Tree! The items donated will be given to those in need and we could not have done this without you. Think of the gift of warmth that you have given to someone who would have been unable to dress for our Minnesota winter. We received a thank you note from Donna McNear for our August donation support-ing her visit to people with visual difficul-ties in the South Pacific. The next meeting of the Outreach Commit-tee will be held on Sunday, January 6th, 2008. Participation in this committee is open to all members of St. John‘s. Join us in caring for the needs of others.
