Mission: To support Christ’s mission in the local, state, and national communities
Matthew 25:35…”for I was hungry and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.”
40”…Truly I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.”
Our regular meeting was held on Sept. 6th at the church. We received letters of appreciation from Heifer International and Episcopal Relief and Development. Both of the projects, giving animals to a family to help raise them out of poverty and providing a sewing machine to a woman in Africa to start her own business helps to empower women and eradicate poverty.
The collection of school supplies for Mankato area school children was delivered to Salvation Army. Our donation weighed in at 79 pounds. Another job well done, St. John’s!
Our church also contributed 137 pounds of food to ECHO during August.
A donation of $200 was sent to the Minnesota Diocese Fund for Flood Relief in Southern Minnesota.
St. John’s will be providing the Saturday meal for Food For Friends on October 13th. We always appreciate your great response to this ongoing project. Nickie and Dale Van Stelten will be co-chairs. A list for food and workers needed is on the downstairs bulletin board. Please sign up.
