OUTREACH REPORT --SEPTEMBER

(:: | ::)

Mission: To support Christ’s mission in the local, state, and national communities

Matthew 25:35…”for I was hungry and you gave me food, was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.”

40”…Truly I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.”

St. John’s Outreach Committee met on August 2. The meeting was opened with scripture and prayer.

It was decided by the committee to add to the collected donation for the Heifer Project so that it was increased to a total of $200.

A project to collect school supplies for children in need was initiated. Ginnie McNear will chair this project. Bobbie Seberson wll prepare a poster, Elsie Olson will provide a basket and the collection site will be in the narthex. The last day for donations will be August 26.

Donna McNear will once again be visiting the South Pacific where she will assist people who are having visual difficulties. The committee voted to support these efforts with a donation of $150.

We have been advised that ECHO Food Shelf needs to replace their large refrigerator. We will look into what is needed to support this local project.

Members of the Outreach Committee may join our vestry representatives as they attend a September meeting in Minneapolis regarding ways to reach Millenium Goals.

The next meeting of the Outreach Committee will be held on Thursday. September 6, at 6:30 p.m. Participation in the work of the committee is open to members of this parish. Join us in caring for the needs of others.
