Please be with us as often as possible during Lent as part of your Lenten
discipline and give a helping hand to these worthwhile organizations.

FOOD FOR FRIENDS

St. John's will be hosting our semi-annual Food for Friends
lunch at the Salvation Army Kitchen on Saturday, March 31.
We need volunteers to help serve the lunch and people to
help provide meatloaves, jello salads and cash for other
supplies. The sign up sheets will be on the bulletin board
in the Parish Hall or see Nickie VanStelten.

St. John’s Outreach Committee Report
Mission: To support Christ’s mission in the local, national, and international community

The people asked him, “Then what are we to do?” He replied, “The man with two shirts must share with him who has none, and anyone who has food must do the same.” Luke 5:10

The month of March is Food Share month. Please be generous with either money or non-perishable food which will be sent to Echo. Questions may be directed to Jaci Lageson, who will chair this project.

Our congregation is involved in Congregations in Partnership for Public Witness (CPPW). This is an effort by local congregations to help provide affordable housing and other needs. Fr. Paul is looking for additional representation from St. John’s to serve with him.

On World Mission Sunday, which was February 18, the children of St. John’s Sunday School made a poster showing the worldwide mission of God’s people. You may view the poster on the display board next to the Sunday School room.

During Lent there will be speakers from various charities at 9:30 every Sunday. The schedule may be found elsewhere in the Chronicle.

At the meeting held February 1, the following charities received donations from this congregation:
Salvation Army Seasonal Shelter for Men - $250
Heat Share $250
Episcopal Relief and Development’s effort to
provide assistance for women who wish to start a
business in undeveloped countries. $150

The next meeting will be Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 6:30p.m. in the Vestry Room. Please join us if you are interested in Outreach.
